A from Staphylococcus aureus has a very
high affinity for the Fc regions immunoglobulin
G molecules. It is commonly used in
antibody purification processes, and
enzyme conjugates can be employed to
detect antibodies in immunoassays.
A 1:40000
dilution of this conjugate gives and
OD >1.0 in a rabbit IgG ELISA using
pNPP substrate. A typical titration
is shown in the panel
