R-Phycoerythrin
R-Phycoerythrin (used in this kit) is a red protein from the light-harvesting phycobiliprotein family, isolated from cyanobacteria, red algae and cryptomonads. It has a strong absorption peak at 565 nm, and a secondary absorption peak at 492 nm. The emission peak is at 575 ± 10 nm. The protein is commonly used for fluorescent immunolabeling, particularly for applications involving fluorescent-activated cell sorting.
